I think about you all the time. Carter is learning all about his "Uncle Jason" and he's beginning to ask questions about you. I know you are in Heaven watching over us still; you always protected me! I love you so much! Have a great birthday in Heaven!

Blue skys forever my friend!!!
One of my favorite Alan Parsons songs from the record "On Air"
"A boy flies for freedom
But dies for the peace
In the clouds, he waits for an answer
But there's no release
It's strange here without you
And it's so hard to see
So brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me
Oh brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me
I still see his shadow
His laugh lingers on
When i dream, we're all back together
When i wake, he's gone
It's strange here without you
This was not meant to be
So brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me
And though we try to change the world
A flower when it's cut will surely die
So why do men with so much hate
Destroy what they cannot create
While we all stand by
We will look back in anger
But you helped us to see
So brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me
Oh brother up in heaven
Please wait up for me"

I was stationed with him while he was deployed during OEF. Being medical personel it was hard for me to know that I could not help him or the others onboard that day. Dear Jason, I was honored with being the speaker for the Chesterfield County Memorial Day Service today. When I was asked to speak, I was asked to speak about you. That was so easy and yet so hard. I spoke about your pre-military life and your military life. Curt, Janet, Landon & Lance were there to honor you. Scott had to work. Last week-end Curt & I attended a service for our Fallen Heroes in Washington, DC. Love and miss you, Mom"

There will be time to visit at Arlington and pay my respects to Jason, as well as to the several members of the 1st U.S. Volunteer Regiment ("Rough Rider" Captains O'Neill & Capron among others) who are buried there. "Jay,
Well Bro, it’s been over three years now. Sometimes it seems like last week, others it seems like another lifetime. I think of you every day, and talk to you most. You could sometimes do a better job of answering back! I miss so many things we used to do, and so many things about you. Most of all though I think I miss being able to pick up the phone and call you. I miss your voice and our conversations often, but especially on those crappy days like today, when nothing goes right and I just really need to talk to someone that will help me think things through, and someone who’s always in my corner, I miss you most. You were that person for me. You are my “little” brother, but I depended on you so much, and miss you so much. You remain my best friend. You make me a stronger person. I’m so proud of you buddy!

"I was on my second tour in Afghanistan when this incident happened.I had just gotten back from an outpost.I knew something was going and that something serious happened. When it was announced that the aircraft had gone down and that all passengers aboard were killed. Just shook the whole base(bagram). It didnt matter what you're rank was or what branch of service you served it was a tragedy to everyone. The day of the memorial I will never forget. When they carried the caskets down the middle of the flightline and we saluted them prior to be loaded onto the aircraft I remember hearing so many people crying especially when the reveille was played.I didn't know Jason or the others at all, but it was very disturbing and affective. That whole day was dreary and lifeless. To all the family members of these soldiers my heart goes out to you and they will not be forgotten.Stay strong and always remember that though they maybe gone their spirit exists.

"I met Jason in January 1999 when he was TDY in Las Vegas. It was Jason who made me first realize that someone is out there fighting for my freedom and comfort and that I should not take my countries luxuries for granted. Jason invited me to my first venture onto an Air Force Base and an up close look at his helicopter (that he was very proud of). And it was Jason who introduced me to the man I love. I feel that he watches over us now as he did in life. And I am forever grateful for knowing him.
For over a year now I have searched for the words to express to you my sadness. There are no perfect words. But please know that every time I think of him my thoughts go to you and I send you a hug and love."
